Chardham yatra will be path to Salvation


If you are a believer in the Hindu faith, you will realize the significance of the Char Dham yatra. It is really an amazing experience and is associated with the spiritual upliftment. Char dham means four places of revelation in the Hindu religion and these include the Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamnotri and Gangotri. Hindus consider this pilgrimage means of eternal bliss and the road leading to salvation. One has to be fit in order to go for the yatra of chardham because of the chilly weather in Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamnotri and Gangotri.

When you talk of the Char Dham Yatra, it forms an important circuit in the Himalayan belt.  Because of the sacred value of the yatra, there are lakhs who indulge in such a pilgrimage to gain boons, blessings and Moksha [salvation] from the lords.  There is a set procedure for the chardham yatra and it has to be started from Yamnotri. The second step in the destination is Gangotri; the third in list is Kedarnath and 4th comes Badrinath.  This is actually based on the Hindu tradition what is called the parikrima in Hindi.  This means making rounds in circle from the clock wise direction. You can really have the touch of the lord in the majestic mountains of the Himalayan region called Garhwal.

You start the Chardham yatra from Haridwar. This is the ancient holy city with relevance.  When you walk through Rishikesh, you will head towards Yamnotri.  One has to start from Haridwar in the early hours of morning as this is long journey and it takes the complete day.  The Yamnotri is dedicated to goddess Yamuna having a great relevance in Hinduism. It is believed that lord Krishna is said is said to have played on the banks of river Yamuna. You can go to the temple and can access it via Hanuman chetty. You get the horses for rent and on the way; you will have the good fortune to see the waterfalls. You have a hot water pool here and rice and potatoes are cooked here by dipping them in the pool.

The next spot is the Gangotri. It is the place where Ganga has merged in the mother earth. You have an 18th century old temple. The starting point is the Gaurmukh glacier considered as the starting point of river Ganges where there is an unending inflow and it never ends.

The third in the list of Char dham yatra is the Kedarnath. This is a place considered as an abode of lord Shiva and family of the god. You will find an amazing peace at this place.

The fourth in the list is Badrinath and it is abode of lord Vishnu. It is a beautiful place and one gets the spiritual blessing of the lord.
